Beyonce Knowles Agrees to Tone Down for Planned Malaysian Gig

Gearing up to kick off her much awaited Malaysian gig, Beyonce Knowles reportedly has agreed to tone down her upcoming performance in the Muslim-majority country in a bid to avoid protests. Entertainment company Marctensia, the concert's Malaysian organizer, tells AP that "all parties have reached an amicable understanding" about the performance, including that of the singer's stage costumes.
The company, furthermore, also addresses the criticism brought forth by the country's largest opposition group, Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party, which wants authorities to scrap the October 25 show over concern that it would promote "Western sexy performances." The representative insists Beyonce should be regarded more as a "role model" and an "embodiment of success" due to her philanthropic work, including campaigns against poverty and domestic violence.
